Abuja Sports Guide - ibb international golf course
The idea of a standard Golf Course was conceived in 1986 with the relocation of government ministries from Lagos to Abuja.
The construction of the first nine holes and the club house began in 1987. The course was commissioned in 1991.
With the completion of the second nine holes in 1994, the club became a standard 18 hole golf course.
The course is a par 72 bisected by a number of streams, ponds and lakes with approx 25 bridges and is set in some of the most beautiful parkland in Sub Saharan Africa.
The golf course occupies a total of 101 hectares and offers a playing distance of 6,098 metres.
